FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My School Dog hopes to build a community for everyone who wants to facilitate opportunities for children and dogs to play together, develop friendships, and learn new life skills. Both families with dogs and professionals who purposefully use dogs in their work can find inspiration, tips, tricks, and knowledge at My School Dog
No, we do not believe that. Some dogs do not have the temperament required to be in close contact with children. BUT we also know that there are many (family) dogs that throughout time have been very significant for children in their daily lives. And still is today. W also thik that even if a dog cannot become the child's best friend, it will still provide the child with life experiences and learning. For example, the child can learn to respect the dog's boundaries, needs, and wants.
No, we do not recommend that. It is always the adult or dog owner who has the responsibility when children and dogs are engaged in an activity. The adult guides and participates as much as necessary to ensure that everything goes safely and pleasantly. If the dog og children is not happy, it is the adult's job to end the activity
I hope we can! Please feel free to contact us by email if you have questions about activities for children and dogs that suit your needs, or see if you find inspiration through the information we share here on our website. For those who want monthly inspiration and direct contact with us at My School Dog, we recommend becoming a member of My schooldog, where we offer a range of membership benefits.
No. We do not have the expertise to guide individuals or specific relationships and situations including dog and children. But safety is the most important of all! And that is why adult owners must make sure that children and dogs who spend time together have a good relationship and feel safe with each other. If you are experiencing issues with this, we strongly recommend that you contact a professional behavior specialist."
