MY SCHOOLDOG CLUB

My Professional Schooldog

This club space is for those who want to take their dog training to the next level, beyond having a basic supportive dog at home. It’s a network for people who want to train dogs more purposefully to support children with specific challenges. A school dog can be trained intentionally to assist children with a variety of needs, such as reading difficulties, emotional support, social participation, or physical and motor challenges. Members of this forum can share experiences, exchange best practices, ask questions, and collaborate with eachother.

CLUB TRAINING

During our weekly club training sessions, we have one monthly focus exercise that we give a little extra attention. This exercise is chosen because it is especially useful for completing that month’s activity. You are also welcome to practise an exercise from a course you are currently following, or to work on something else you personally want to focus on. Whatever you choose, you can take part in our supportive training community during the club sessions.

You will also learn one enriching School Dog activity that children and dogs can enjoy together.
Step into the Clubhouse and enjoy inspiring training sessions together with us and a community of fellow dog enthusiasts!

ICofA Dog Training Course

We use the Basic Dog Training Exercises course from ICOFA community as part of our training, This course helps dogs and handlers build important foundational skills in a calm and supportive way.

You are very welcome to explore the course and see whether it feels like a good match for you and your dog, alongside the training and community you find in the My Schooldog Clubhouse.

We follow the Service Dog Training School International programme to give dogs the solid foundation they need and develop useful skills for working as professional school dogs.
